Why haven't we, as a society, given up on USB-c as a failed experiment?

@Rev. Odessa Cathode Ray :vepi: the standard normal kinda flat USB ports were A (or host), the kinda weird squarish ones you probably only saw on a printer were B

I rather like USB-C myself, but now that the EU is making technical choices for all the companies in world to protect its precious children, you’re going to be stuck with it for decades.

@Lester Ward the problem is that I've never had a long lasting cable and many of the physical ports die

That’s not been my experience, but I’m much more careful about which cables I buy than with other types of cables, as there is/was a ton of fraudulent product, particularly early on.
