Why haven't we, as a society, given up on USB-c as a failed experiment?
I never even saw USB-A or USB-B. What happened to them?
@Rev. Odessa Cathode Ray :vepi: the standard normal kinda flat USB ports were A (or host), the kinda weird squarish ones you probably only saw on a printer were B
Well now you've trampled on my poor attempt at humor :P
That's interesting, though. I didn't know that.
@Rev. Odessa Cathode Ray :vepi: sorry, I'm bad at the jokes! my brain is just four factoids in a fishbowl waiting to be your new friend
I consider myself friend to factoids and poor jokes alike. Welcome.
I rather like USB-C myself, but now that the EU is making technical choices for all the companies in world to protect its precious children, you’re going to be stuck with it for decades.
@Lester Ward the problem is that I've never had a long lasting cable and many of the physical ports die
That’s not been my experience, but I’m much more careful about which cables I buy than with other types of cables, as there is/was a ton of fraudulent product, particularly early on.
@Lester Ward for most it's that the ports go tacky after a few months
