CISSP exam in two weeks, and I've no iudea how the exam compares to the practices

I feel like I know all the stuff, but feel like a 4 hour multiple choice exam I have to wake up at 6:30 am for is the least ideal way to test that

Any advice/assurances for someone who really just needs letters that tell well-meaning HR people that I am hirable?

silverwizard reshared this.

if I fail I basically have to spend another 1k and take it again in a week

and then I have an eclipse chasing vacation and my brother's wedding, which I hope will make me less stressed

bah - 2024's first half is intense

@silverwizard I'm going to Québec to see the eclipse as well!
@Hypolite Petovan Oh shit! What area? I'm gonna be in Montreal but we should see each other!
@silverwizard I'm going to be further East in Magog, I'd like that for sure but I'm not sure how to organize this yet.
@Hypolite Petovan we can figure stuff out, we have a tightish timetable because my brother is married on the 14th
@silverwizard We'll be in Canada just Sunday and Monday for the eclipse, so it will be tight indeed.
@Lord Doktor Krypt3ia I've been running security teams since 2017, I've already been there and done that
I don't know that exam specifically but my tactic with any certification exam has been question dumps and practice tests. Lots and lots of them. It worked well enough that even though a bunch of questions on my AWS Solutions Architect exam were unlike any of the practice questions I spent weeks working on, I still passed.
@Rivetgeek That makes sense. I did a video course, then did a practice exam, read some of a book, and then did another practice exam, and then gonna read more from the book. Hoping this'll work. I'm hoping the CISSP Official Practice Tests book relates to the exam. But seriously.
I used a combination if Udemy and CloudAcademy (which we have through my work). It took a couple months total but the last two weeks or so was totally Udemy doing practice test after practice test. I had the blessing of my boss to prioritize that during work hours though.
@Rivetgeek Yeah, I've been destroying my weekends all year >.<

@silverwizard: if I can pass it, just about anybody can. There is certainly a lot of stuff to take in, but it is learnable.

I should admit that it took me two tries, but i got there 🙃

@BB :verified_cool: I really hope I don't have to find another fee, that's my main fear!

but thanks!
