Yikes. LibreOffice Calc will let you to open 2 copies of the same file at the same time.

Then it gives a cryptic error message about "another user editing the same file" when you try to save conflicting changes.

Not sure if this is a bug. But it feels like a bug.

Typically if I accidentally double-click on the same file to open it, I'd expect the software to transparently pop up the already-open one, not transparently open a second copy full of destructive potential...
I guess that is the tradeoff when not using a central parent process to keep track of opened files
This feels like the kind of situation where a piece of software removing a footgun makes it less able to shoot me in the foot, but I'm less able to do clever things?
