I installed Space Engineers under Linux. This time, after working through some glitches during installation, it's working well. I pulled up some old save files, and was reminded both why I enjoyed it so much, and why I stopped playing: it's like playing with toys (of my own design) in a sandbox. So there's just my toys, and the sand.

@silverwizard
I've tried similar games, but it's much more interesting to build the infrastructure in real life. :D

There's downloadable PDF's of the books, and they contain all of the formula's needed to design/build your own systems. :D

yeah I'm hoping to avoid that issue with my game Slartboz. I am giving it sandbox features. because that freedom is fun. but you cant have just a sandbox. so there are various plots, challenges and special events too. player has some flexibility to ignore them or delay rhem of you wish. like in GTA and Fallout. but there are also the plots and stuff avail for when player wants those instead. both good imo. a balance
