TIL that my instance advertises its block list and block reason.

Lol - the number of times I just put "Fuck 'Em" in there.

Though the one time I just used "vibes" is pretty funny
Yeah, I found it quite amusing. Interestingly enough, while it shows instances that have been defederated, it doesn't show individual accounts that have. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not.
I haven't instance level blocked individual people.

Basically I only block at an instance level if it's direct nazi shit, spam especially to the point of DDOS, or CSAM, except for the one marked "vibes" where I just found a moderator saying some very nazi-y stuff and I just chucked the whole instance in the garbage rather than worry about it.
I've instance blocked a few individuals (mostly spammers on PeerTube). They don't show up publicly on mine.
@Jonathan Lamothe (he/him) ❌ We haven't had a conversation about listing individual accounts blocked at the node level yet. I can see it going either way when the instance block display was way more straightforward.
@Hypolite Petovan I'm curious. What are the arguments in favour of not making the list public?
Would be entirely easy to make into a harassment and singling out tactic
@silverwizard @Jonathan Lamothe (he/him) ❌ Yeah, in general, individual account list = bad. Instance blocks are way less personal.
@silverwizard I guess that's a fair point. I just want to be transparent with my users (all three of them) about what I block and why.

@Jonathan Lamothe (he/him) ❌ Ah, it's different. Having a logged-in only display of node-level individual account blocks, maybe not as a list but as a mark on the locally stored profile would be worthwhile.
