It's hard for me to emphasize just how much #Windows 11 is just a nasty lead paint coat over Windows 10. Still, I'll present you this nugget for your consideration: behind every round corner Windows 11 contextual menu, there's your good old square corner Windows 10 contextual menu with more options.

It isn't hidden, there's a contextual menu entry just to bring up the old menu! 🤯

When Windows annoy me to the point I would need to enter " reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve"
to make it work as I want, then it means the time to install Linux on this machine is now...

@:akko_angery: Kingu Most of my video game library was built against the Windows operating system. I know there are workarounds on Linux, and I'm glad they exist for the people who are using Linux on a daily basis, but they aren't for me.

As much as I enjoy it in a professional context, Linux doesn't have much on Windows in the "OS annoys me to the point I would need to enter an arbitrary command line" department.

@:akko_angery: Kingu What I mean is that Linux often needs several arbitrary command lines to be usable, even in the more UI-focused distributions. I don't think it's a non-starter issue, but it still more prevalent than in Windows.

This is not very true anymore, and when command are to be entered, they very rarely look like :

"HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32"

@Hypolite Petovan Have you ever tried these slimmed down Window's images made by enthusiasts/ community developers? I'm not sure what the legality is... I used some of them in the past to run inside a virtual machine. Massively reduced bloat and considerably less annoyance.

@Andy H3 Thank you for the suggestion but no, I've only had very few problems with Windows given the time I've been using it, which doesn't really justify me investing time into potentially risky alternatives.
