I've been a happy @snikket_im (self-hosted XMPP server) user for a while now.

Sandra and I use it for all our messaging and calls (voice and video), and we've both been so pleased with it.

So @decodedlegal was particularly pleased to be able to "give back" to this FOSS project with a little free legal work to help with their new "hosted" option, for those who don't want to self-host.

@sbug It would be interesting to me but as I’d only end up talking to myself there’s little point :-(

This is the problem most people I want to talk to are annoyingly on WhatsApp or Telegram, I did manage to get a few on signal but it seems we’ve drifted back to WhatsApp (I begrudgingly went back to it a few months back because I wanted to talk to people who won’t use the other services).
