oh shit thats a nice looking laptop! I wonder what the linux support will look like?

I feel like the keyboard would only have the option of being bad. Though would work well with an attached keyboard. But if it works - I'd love it

yeah I am fine with using a bluetooth mechanical keyboard. the idea of a 17inch screen that folds into a 12 inch laptop sounds too good to be true

Oh! Yeah! I'm currently using a surface tablet and then a USB keyboard, and I love the flexibility of the style!

Oh shit! Someone else using the bonkersness I am!

I am also on a Surface 3

I am using straight Debian (devuan's installer couldn't figure out GRUB) and just XFCE - this is mostly because I think... I hate all the touch DEs I've seen. I just use Onboard to get a screen keyboard.

My main issue is that youtube (the website) crashes it sometimes - so I wrote a little tool to make VLC do the work

you aren't using surface linux kernel? I have an issue with any media in firefox now it will play normally but then after a few minutes glitches out and makes a horrible beeping noise
in reply to wakest ⁂

Yeah, I'm using the surface linux kernel yeah, just on debian

OH! YEAH! THE SCREECHING NOISE!

There's a weird issue with sound drivers
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="snd_intel_dspcfg.dsp_driver=2"
I needed to add that to /etc/grub/config

I also get weird issues with sound still sometimes, where if I listen to like a 1.5 hour thing it glitches out after a bunch of the issues.

I am fairly certain - I had to fight with it a little, but I think that was the one that fixed that one
