I swear, I'm not sure I've owned a tech device that I've just loved more than my reMarkable. The desktop software sucks, but not so badly as to get in the way. Other than that, it's been four years since I bought one used (not sure how long the previous owner had it), and zero signs of planned obsolescence or breakage. It just keeps doing what it needs to do, and doing it pretty bloody well.
(Full disclosure: I got grandfathered into a free-for-life subscription to its online services.)

I'd not considered getting one used before; the price has put me off as I wasn't sure "yet another tech device" at full price would really help me solve any of my long standing organizational issues (so far, Obsidian has been a godsend for my ADHD and that's about it). I'll keep an eye out for used ones at this rate...!

in reply to Asta [AMP] • • •@aud To be sure, I don't necessarily mean that as a recommendation, as I know my needs are not the same as anyone else's... I do a lot of PDF and ePub annotation, which it's amazing at, but I don't do as much notetaking as it's probably intended for.
That said, I do mean that as an expression that I love the device for how well it fits within my own life.
