@:akko_angery: Kingu The 9. is such wishful thinking. Finding new music you like means you have to wade through so much stuff you donโt like because youโre already listening to the obvious bands. And then if it goes long enough, you find yourself in the dubious production skills no-manโs-land, the rough all around the potential diamond. Itโs fastidious unless youโre not particular but in that case you wouldnโt have had the issue this was answering to.
@Hypolite Petovan @:akko_angery: Kingu I once drove 8 hours to a show that ended up in the basement of a bar in Montreal. And so this band was playing a bar and me and a group of my friends danced our fucking hearts out. We screamed and dance. And afterward the band *wnated to talk to us* because they felt like they had a better show because of us.
And like - holy shit. We were star struck and getting autographs from people who were happy to see us. And how fuck can you get a better show than that!
@:akko_angery: Kingu From what I've seen you enjoy, I'd say you aren't very particular, and good for you! I personally have had to hide the #Music hashtag because how little I have enjoyed the music other people have shared and how it has felt like wasted time to me. ๐
@:akko_angery: Kingu Why don't you ask directly then? My favorite genre is clean harmonies with a strong beat structure. This encompasses genres like synthwave, trance, chillout, big beat, break beat, some hip-hop, pop rock and metal, although I don't feel like I belong to any of these individual scenes.
I have also identified a weird fondness for electronica bands with at least live drums. My live show experiences of electronica bands who bring live instrument on stage have always gone beyond what I've felt about the original album tracks.
Finally I don't care much for vocals and will often prefer instrumental tracks when they are available for a given album.
I can provide a sample of artists I regularly listen to, although I rarely have a loyalty to single act, preferring cherry-picking individual tracks that resonate with me, for which Spotify has been invaluable with its recommendations.

@Hypolite Petovan Why did that end up in your replychain! I probably clicked a wrong thing!
In this case I heard of this band by listening to a bunch of slush in the background until good shit showed up

•It is funny how this sentence
"This encompasses genres like synthwave, trance, chillout, big beat, break beat, some hip-hop, pop rock and metal"
could be used to describe the j-pop alt-idol subgenre ๐
