I am looking for a computer, that can be thrown in a backpack, and has a battery. Ideally no screen or keyboard inbuilt.

The only thing that comes to mind is my toothbrush.

@Craig P lol, I need a sliiiiiiightly fuller linux. I want it to play an mp3, but I can't think of an mp3 player I can put a cf card in/root easily

@Peter :emacs: :fedora: yeah, a lot of the 3D printed enclosures I've seen don't seem to do "sit in a pocket" well. I've got an rpi clone (le potato) and a pine64lts sitting around, but they feel too fragile...

powers via battery using standard connector. Or USB.

Watching the kids do a sub-one-minute change/upload/test cycle on the hardware was mindbending

depending on what you're doing, the other hackish suggestion I have is to hit up Build-a-Bear for those record-a-message modules they sell for their stuffies

@Michael Brown lol - that's also a pretty good option.

My goal is to make an ebook reader that will start playing when a CF card is inserted. And then bulk buy 128MB cards and put books on them.
