elevator pitch: they’re USB type A ports, but they rotate 180 degrees so you never have to change the orientation of a usb key or cable again.

USB-IF: sounds great, sundog, we’ll do it. it requires this special rotation tool. yeah, the tool is asymmetric. have fun and thanks for helping make usb the best it can be.

I mean, in theory, usb-c was supposed to get us here. but then everyone just started treating the connector as 46 pins to do whatever with, to hell with actually implementing usb. that's for suckers.
