Let Ea-nāṣir be a reminder that the complaints you publish on Internet today will look very silly 3,765 years from now no matter how valid they are.
@silverwizard The complaint looks silly now, even though Nanni must have been rightfully pissed at the time.
@Hypolite Petovan Really? I don't see it as silly as all. I feel like it's popular because we've all been there (except the slaves)
@silverwizard The real tragedy is that 3,765 years later people know better the name of the fraudster, not of the person he harmed. Really makes doing the right thing a harder sell.
@Hypolite Petovan It's all about the marketing!

Also - everyone loves a hustler (but only in the classic sense, but not in the Hustle Culture sense)
@silverwizard Wait what's the difference between hustler and Hustler Culture? I don't think I love either.
@Hypolite Petovan Hustler was a term for a kind of con-artist - often associated with Carney culture - but definitely not primarily. Hustle Culture is about working hard until you die cold and alone.
@silverwizard Thanks, and I see what you mean, but I'm not sure it applies here, not when copper quality is on the line! Are you blaming Nanni for taking a too good to be true deal?
@Hypolite Petovan I am saying that Ea-Nasir hustled Nanni. Being like "look how good this copper is" and then gave different copper!
@silverwizard I see the parallel, and I hate that we still are at this point! Have we learned nothing? Can't we be better?
@Hypolite Petovan Humans will always be human. Where the falling angel meets rising ape.
@silverwizard I'm not impressed by the dramatic depiction. I want efficiency. Ratcheting progress. Reducing inequalities. Not exciting tales of conniving hustlers!
@silverwizard The only hustler I like is Robin Hood.
@silverwizard ah cmon. If we're talking Fantasy add at least Mal and the rest of the Firefly crew 😁
@Beko Pharm @silverwizard Fair enough, maybe Starlord from the Guardians of the Galaxy too?
