Here's my thought experiment: what if university students continue to stand up and demand that their minds, work and futures not be devoted to the bloodthirsty engine of racist imperialism?

Where do you think AI programs like Lavender, or drones like the ones Elbit makes if not from R&D done by students. How can Israel stalk women and starve children without the work done at these universities?

Classic NYT, you have it exactly backwards.

NY writer Andrew Ross Sorkin: Controversial thought experiment: What would happen if companies told universities that they wouldn’t hire ANY of their students unless the schools take decisive action to end blatant antisemitism on campus. After all, no company would use an executive search firm with even one employee who openly engaged in antisemitism.

This is what "divestment" is. It's part of the demand. Students are waking up to the US economy and workforce's complicity in making the world worse, and they would like it to end.

They can't do what they do without workers willing to go along with it, or at the very least ignore that it's happening

is Andrew sorkin just like "we have Aaron sorkin at home"?
@himbovoorhees NYT is a haven for nepo children, but I dunno if there's any relation. Clearly they're both turbolibs
@Sid🇵🇸 "what if capital could arbitrate the world of acceptable opinions, wouldn't that rock?"
