Watched #Blade (1998).

Some things hold up really well, some stuff feels very 90s (of which some holds up, some not), some stuff feels very 80s, like, Paul Verhoeven 80s. The level of splatter is hilarious.

Love his suit and his fighting style, but man does this story drag on. Haven't decided if I want to see the whole trilogy. This one I've seen before, the others not.

The sudden level of badassery from the good Doctor doesn't feel believable at all, but I like it.
Is the rest of the Blade trilogy fun?

Are the Resident Evil films fun? I love Jovovich in The Fifth Element.
Yes to all. Blade II is dumb but gross and fun. Blade Trinity is a mess of a plot, but has some great side characters (Parker Posey!) and new villain.

ResEvil is hilarious kung fu/shooter/zombie junk. First one's all the stupid shit of the games, no rational explanation. Each sequel gets crazier, apocalypse gets worse, Alice becomes a death goddess. Haven't seen the reboot and likely won't.

Underworld's like that, too. Just insane violence with leather outfits.

@clacke In answer to the "Blade" question, I think I've only seen one, so I don't have an answer about whether the others are fun.
> #Blade (1998)

For some reason, I thought it was a couple of years earlier.

Memory says I saw it back when Wednesday was movie day for me and #sonOne, and that we saw it together. For some reason, I thought we'd stopped by that time ( 1998-08-19 ).

β€Œ@LinuxWalt (@lnxw48a1) {3EB165E0-5BB1-45D2-9E7D-93B31821F864} Me too. Only one year before The Matrix? Wouldn't have guessed it. As I hinted at, it feels a lot like an 80s film with 90s clothes.

Which reminds me that I haven't seen The Lost Boys (I think?).

Stephen Dorff and Kiefer Sutherland look a lot alike, actually.
In particular, I'm surprised Blade came after Demolition Man, not before.

In my Hollywood headcanon Blade (1998) made Snipes a name and that's why he would be in Demolition Man (1993). πŸ˜…
Nah, New Jack City was Snipes' huge role. Lots of others, but NJC was *so* everywhere.
@clacke https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0105104/ is when I first remember Wesley Snipes.
@clacke I really enjoyed it at the time, but I also saw it with a 14 year old. I would like to re-watch and see how much I like it today.
