>It is K-9 Mail just sponsored and rebranded
That is really shady behavior. Typical of Nue-Mozilla nuegia.net/articles/mozilla/

I don't agree

Funding an existing tool is solid, and they are very open about it

I'm concerned about Google influence over K-9 Mail like how it completely consumes influence over Firefox to the point is its esssentially a clone of Google Chrome. nuegia.net/articles/mozilla/#f… Maybe Mozilla should focus more of their money they do have on their own product, Firefox instead of infesting other projects or having their executives siphon it away, especially when they are performing the worst. calpaterson.com/assets/mozilla…

@mikebabcock it IS K-9 mail, K-9 has joined Mozilla to become the Android app for Thunderbird

Sure, OK, I get the idea of worrying about ideological impurity in K9 mail, and Mozilla has been shady.

I am hoping K9 doesn't get a pile of weird tracking

I can also go back to ssh and mutt

It's not just some ideological concern. Everything Nue-Mozilla touches turns to shit. killedbymozilla.com/

I like K-9 Mail and it's going really strong right now. I don't want it to die or be turned into some clone of Gmail or bloated up with 421+ webtech related CVEs. cvedetails.com/vulnerability-l…

I'm perfectly happy downloading sources and fixing them myself if necessary. I've been using nightly builds for a long time anyway.
