Dunno how personally involved he is. Apparently he was surprised to find it had access to the Twitter database, and cut it off.

@pre He’s still an investor. Likely not involved in the day-to-day since he quit the board. But who knows :)

Got it. Certain groups aren't actually individual humans, but are actually shadowy collective nonhuman "Others".

Any other groups you'd like to do that with? Jews, perhaps?

in reply to Nafnlaus 🇮🇸 🇺🇦

@Nafnlaus 🇮🇸 🇺🇦 Jewish people didn't decide to be so, billionaires (and Nazis) can stop at any point. Again, get the fuck out with your absolutely ridiculous false equivalencies.
in reply to Hypolite Petovan

I'm sorry, but EVERYONE in the species Homo sapiens is a human. Not some shadowy "Other". The stereotyping of broad groups as otherwise rather than considering them as individual human beings subject to the same human characteristics as others is an incredibly dangerous moral philosophy.

@Nafnlaus 🇮🇸 🇺🇦 I love humans but I don't like you very much at the moment. You have no idea what you're talking about, I know perfectly well where I stand on discrimination and you being overly broad about what "human" means won't change that.
in reply to Hypolite Petovan

Anyone who says the term "overly broad about what human means" is a deeply problematic individual. Period.

I have nothing more to add to this discussion.

in reply to silverwizard

@silverwizard And what is your purported "stated interest"? Literally the only thing stated interest I can think of that most billionaires have signed onto is the Giving Pledge, which is literally the opposite of the point you're trying to make. They cover a wide range of nationalities, races, and political leanings, and indeed, many of them can't stand each other and think that the other is dangerous for society. Just like people as a whole do.
in reply to Nafnlaus 🇮🇸 🇺🇦

The well is so poisoned that I don't even know how to explain to you what an affinity group is. I feel like you should maybe go do some basic reading on social structures and what they are and what even a society might be.
in reply to silverwizard

@silverwizard My question in response to your allegation of billionaires being "an affinity group" could not have been simpler.
in reply to Aral Balkan

I guess missing to mention some billionaires from some `middle-eastern region` 🤷‍♀️. Just suggesting 😋

what's up with cancel culture certain segment of people in West live their life by? So if musk put some cents in openai in investment we burn it down? Did someone figure out what shops musk go to? Those also need to be burnt down, because how else do they dare taking his money in exchange of goods?!
in reply to Hypolite Petovan

it is clear to me that you hold the opinion shared by half of the americans, whereas other half think you are wrong. Either way, both sides are politically polarised down to tribal level, but deny it. So, go ahead and boycott every shop that musk shops at because you must avoid touching the same basket he touched when he was shopping. But that doesn't matter because other half will spit money in support of those shops, and only loser is americans who were politically played.

I have not played with ChatGPT yet (but I did try some of their older projects in the past) as I prefer to invest my free time rather in open source projects but I understand the Wikipedia as he is only a minor investor of many. Like even Microsoft invested in them
in reply to Aral Balkan

I played with it to warn my students. We did a couple of the problematic stuff live. Went pretty well, I think.

@a32 Yep, to the tune of $1B reportedly.

I was going to play with it, but it wanted a verified email address and telephone number before I could even get in, so I just left it.
in reply to Aral Balkan

I knew that already. Also he bought it... well like other companies, whatever!

@aslihan @wakeup And if it’s not easy to find there, just do a search for articles regarding the two. e.g., forbes.com/sites/theopriestley…

musk is "just" money but Peter Thiel? This is the real danger.

Please stop ingesting your questions, thoughts in his data collection. You are just playing his game!

in reply to Aral Balkan

It is super confusing they have "open" in their name - one can falsely assume OpenAI has something to do with open source 🤔
