"Two Harvard students have created an eerie demo of how smart glasses can use facial recognition tech to instantly dox people’s identities, phone numbers, and addresses. The most unsettling part is the demo uses current, widely available technology like the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and public databases."

At least I'm pretty sure that we won't be discovering a black hole and manipulating it with resonators at Tonga and other locations, nor that Jen Wolling will upload herself to the internet and become the new personification of Gaia.

(Sorry, I love that book, and a panopticon of IoT devices and the erosion of privacy was a prominent, if comparatively minor, plot point.)

I will never be able to find it, but we had quite the thread on DIY drone jammers a year or so.

DIY EMP would be less focused, but effective.

I want a SAM that closes in on the video transmitter emissions. Those things have to run hot as hell to get the signal back and should be easy to lock onto.

Sorry but, what's an SAM? I tried searching but got a lot of Sams.

@enriquericos @skotchygut 😂 it's a "surface to air missle". Probably a lot harder to DIY than an EMP.

😅 true. 2nd ammendment doesn't include energy weapons but the founding fathers definitely wanted citizens to have missles.
